Message from Emma

It's great to see you here! I offer sessions on zoom and use body-based techniques and thought practices to encourage an efficient pathway to emotional regulation. This space is non-judgemental, open and safe. I’m here for you when you are ready. Most of my clients are women although men are totally welcome. I have experience working with people with ADHD and PTSD. Below is a little about the challenges I can support you through. Anxiety and stress are debilitating over time, they can make your normal routine feel impossible, which perpetuates the problem. I have supported clients through renegotiating their stress response in mild to extreme cases. Panic attacks for example are a terrifying and often lonely experience. The nervous system is sophisticated, and operates with a language that doesn’t use words, which confuses things enormously when our thoughts get involved with what’s happening to our bodies. The good news is that we are 100% control of how we feel. Conflict in relationship is totally normal, but sometimes it can feel like you haven’t fully repaired, and that argument might still be on your mind. Overtime this causes resentment, and enough of these can force two people who love each other apart. Maybe it’s difficult for you to express how you feel because you don’t feel understood by your partner, or you feel so triggered that it’s hard to stay present and calm. Sometimes the energy of an unresolved situation can get in the way of your here-and-now. Anger can feel all consuming, which makes it difficult to stay connected to yourself and your environment, it can blur lines between your reality and that of people around us, leading to frustration and a really overwhelming vicious cycle. The trigger could be anything, your partner, your family maybe even your boss. Anger is a potent form of energy, and sometimes when it’s too much for our system it can be destructive. It DOES have a place in us, recalibrating our relationship to it is often a great place to start.

Get to Know Emma

"To say that I've enjoyed working with Emma would be an understatement.  From her vast knowledge on how emotions and the body are interconnected, to her eagerness and curiosity to learn from her clients, Emma is someone who you definitely want to work with. I've gained immense insight into not only us as humans, but how I personally have held onto things emotionally.  I absolutely love her personable and warm nature.  The confidence she exudes while working with me makes me feel safe and certain that I am where I need to be. Not only in the present moment, but in life. So thank you Emma for creating the work you do! My experience working with you has been incredible and invaluable to me!"

Becca F., Client

"I came to my session with Emma in a state of distress. I had recently experienced a traumatic incident and found myself unable to go about my daily life in the wake of what happened. Emma instantly provided such a safe space and I felt really seen and held as I relayed My experience to her. She helped me process the event and guided me through a series of breathwork practices that released a lot of the fear and nervousness I had been carrying with me. Moreover, Emma's observations throughout the session have stayed with me and have really shifted the way in which I relate to myself and my emotions. I left our session feeling infinitely lighter and freer in my body. Over the following days and weeks, I noticed that I was able to go about my days in a state of calm - that in itself has been incredible! I am so grateful for my session with Emma and I look forward to working together in the future!"

Emma O., Client

"Working with Emma through the last two months has been a lifesaver. She was a guide for me getting past my initial hurdle of fear in moving my body.  I came to her with a lot self-imposed restriction from programmed pain as a result of coping after a few car accidents. Her intuition, knowledge and coaching felt like a soothing salve. As she walked me through reconnecting more deeply with my body and building trust in my ability through structured movement, she also asked helpful questions that helped to release the emotional charge.  Emma is a great healer and her work has been a dose of valuable medicine on my road to recovery."

Sarah B., Client

"I have begun my somatic healing work with Emma after searching for a long time to find the right practitioner. Even after just one session, during which Emma’s presence and compassion offered incredible support, I felt a huge shift in energy and a visceral release from some very highly charged, painful emotions around an old story. I feel privileged to be doing this kind of healing work with someone in whom I have deep trust and respect. Thank you Emma!"

Becky T., Client

"Since working with Emma, I have noticed many positive changes in my life.  She has helped me to feel confident and empowered to take action where I need to, but at the same time helped me to feel much peace around difficult situations and past experiences. Over the years I have worked with many types of therapists and coaches, and Emma has stood out.  She has helped me greatly in a short space of time with different struggles.  She has been quite exceptional. Always grateful to have found her and I look forward to our future sessions."

Is there ever a time when you would encourage me to leave or graduate? Or how do I know when it's time to end or move on, or time to stay and explore more?

Absolutely. This work is about personal responsibility and ownership of your feelings, and over time, the energetic charge of the narrative that brought you here will dissipate. You will also learn new skills that will help you to deal with difficult feelings in a way that serves you better.

How should I prepare for my first session with you?

Show up as you are. Make sure you create a peaceful space for yourself - free from distractions.

Do you assign homework, activities, or readings for me to do between sessions? Why or why not?

Yes, but these will never be arduous. Mostly, homework is in the form of body-based awareness practices that will help you track the physical aspect of an emotion - primarily the ones on the more pleasant end of the spectrum.

How long should I commit to being in coaching, at least in the beginning?

Change and/or evolution registers in the nervous system at a pace unique to everyone. Depending on how often you are and your coach are meeting, and the weight of the challenge you are dealing with, a commitment of 2-4 months is a good place to start.
