Verified background check
After more than 20 years working in the corporate market research world, I found myself fully unfulfilled. I wanted to help people, not figure out how to sell more to them. So I quit my job and went back to school to become a therapist. After getting licensed in 2022, I opened my own private practice, Be You Therapy, in Pasadena, seeing people both online and in-person. I started my training working with families dealing with memory issues such as Alzheimer’s Disease. Since then, I have worked with adults dealing with issues such as depression, anxiety, sexual assault & other traumas, PTSD, relationship stress, consensual nonmonogamy, premarital counseling, eating disorders, grief & loss, and mid-life crisis. I am an LGBTQ+ ally. I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, and I have researched and presented on the effects of trauma related to sexual assault on college campuses in the #MeToo era. I have also assisted on a research study on chronic pain.

As a market researcher, I studied human behavior to help companies sell more products and services, which was completely unfulfilling. Now I study human behavior to help people live their best lives, which is way more fulfilling!
It depends... If you want homework or readings, I can provide what I think has a chance of helping you. But if you don't, then I won't.
When you meet your goals for therapy and have confidence in your ability to handle new issues that might come up, then we can talk about ending therapy. It's a decision that we would make together, and I would never encourage you to stay in therapy for my own benefit.
Therapy sessions are about you, not me. I'll answer questions you might have, but I try to keep the focus on you so that you can get the most out of our time together.
While in grad school, I worked at an adult day care facility for persons with memory issues and their families. But before that I worked in the corporate world for more than 20 years.
I strive to be as inclusive as possible. Just because we may come from different backgrounds doesn't mean we can't work together. Recognizing both differences and similarities can help to strengthen the therapeutic relationship. We can learn from each other!
