Message from Daniel

I work with people who want to cultivate real change in their lives, whether that's learning to manage depression or anxiety, getting along better with other people or their partners, or helping people accomplish that career goal they desire. I believe that establishing a good connection with my clients and creating manageable and growth-oriented goals can lead to lasting positive change. My theoretical preference is psychodynamic and person centered therapy, while utilizing mindfulness based skills. I believe that traditional talk therapy coupled with skill-based interventions can help you with whatever you're struggling with. Together we can establish a strong and meaningful connection as well as concrete goals to work towards. I graduated with my masters in Mental Health Counseling from Touro College and am currently enrolled in Pace University for a doctoral degree, where my focus is growing from adversity. I have worked in a variety of settings helping people overcome obstacles in their lives.

Get to Know Daniel

What is unique about the work you do, or how have you found your work to be different than your colleagues'?

I have found that my style of therapy is slightly more informal than some of my colleagues, which can make therapy sessions feel more conversational than one-sided.

Is there ever a time when you would encourage me to leave or graduate? Or how do I know when it's time to end or move on, or time to stay and explore more?

Absolutely! My goal is for you to be able to independently tackle your own goals without my help.

If I have never been to therapy before, what should I expect? How do I know if I should go, and how do I start?

First -congratulations on taking a big step and starting therapy! Therapy can work in a few different ways, but generally speaking we discuss a bit about what brought you to therapy and together we figure out a plan to overcome obstacles and grow.
